SoloTex Receives FINRA Greenlight to Bring Tokenised Stocks to Retail Traders

-

Quick take:

  • Built by Texture Capital and Sologenic, SoloTexis is set to launch its platform later this year.
  • The platform provides real share ownership through tokens, including dividends and voting rights.
  • Tokenisation of U.S. stocks and ETFs gained popularity this year, with the likes of Kraken, Bybit, and Gemini among those offering the product to non-U.S. traders.

Texture Capital, a U.S.-based broker-dealer registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission and FINRA, said it has received regulatory approval to offer tokenized U.S. stocks to U.S. retail traders.

The product will be offered through the company’s SoloTex platform, built in partnership with Sologenic, an on-demand real-world asset tokenization platform for institutions.

Set to launch later this year, SoloTex provides real share ownership through tokens, including dividends and voting rights.

The announcement comes as the tokenized real-world assets market continues to gain traction. According to RWA.xyz, a platform that tracks the value of real-world assets on-chain, the total real-world assets on-chain have surpassed $33 billion, which is more than double the $15 billion at the start of the year.

This comes amid rising interest in tokenised U.S. securities, including treasuries, private credit, stocks, and ETFs. So far, most of the exchanges, including Kraken, Bybit, and Gemini, which offer tokenized U.S. stocks trading, have focused on markets outside of the U.S.

With Texture Capital’s FINRA approval, it joins a small list of platforms targeting the U.S. market, including Dinari.

According to Texture Capital CEO Richard Johnson and Sologenic CEO Mike McCluskey, who spoke to CoinDesk in an interview, SoloTex tries to differentiate itself from the competition by “offering real share ownership with the tokens.”

“We believe this is a first for the U.S. market, and it sets the stage for a new era of asset ownership through tokenization,” McCluskey said.
